Mendocino County Area Narcotics Anonymous Help/Information Phone Line

Phone System Updates

Mendocino Area of Narcotics Anonymous has maintained an information Phone line for many years and has recently upgraded our system.

As always, callers can speak to one our addict volunteers in person when calling our number, but our new system has some added features. The system has an auto attendant that answers calls, announces our Area name, and provides the caller a number of menu options to route the call.

This new system provides us with the following benefits:

  • Press 1 – The system will simultaneously call all our phone line volunteers. The first one to answer will take the call.

  • Press 2 – Using a city name or zip code, the caller can here a list of meetings nearby. The system has access to all Areas throughout the world that are using this system to maintain their meeting lists, so addicts with our number can use the meeting search feature wherever they are! The system will also text the caller a link to the online meeting list, filtered for the city or zip code they entered during the call.

  • Press 3 – The system will read the caller today’s Just for Today Reading.

  • Voicemail – If the caller presses 1 and an addict is unavailable to answer, the caller can leave a voicemail. All phone line volunteers will receive a text message with the link to hear the voicemail and they can respond.

  • Texting – Addicts who are just looking for a meeting and don’t want to navigate the phone tree can text a city name or zip code to our number. The system will immediately text them back with a link to the online meeting list, filtered for the city or zip code they asked for.
